ITC Alliances for Action has launched this webinar series to support the Caribbean’s coconut industry in managing this crisis through both emergency measures and future-facing strategies. Different angles, from safety measures to market trends, experts will start an open conversation with key local actors, while providing tools that aim to build capacity.
We continue the series with a session on description of good agricultural practices to produce high quality coconut planting material, control pest and diseases and integrate other crops in the system for income diversification and resilience. The presentations will include technologies, strategies and policies related to making the coconut a dynamic and sustainable industry. In this session we will look at:
- Best practices selecting and disseminate high quality planting material
- Intercropping with coconuts
- Climate smart agricultural practices and organic farming
